About
I studied traditional art in the certificate program at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, earned my degree in being a poor poet at Antioch University, and picked up digital art tools in the certificate program at The Gnomon School of Visual Effects.
In 2004, I became the very first Product Manager for ZBrush at Pixologic where I worked with programmers and artists to fuse traditional and digital art processes. To put it another way, I’m the guy who put the Rake brush in ZBrush.
While at Pixologic, I consulted with fortune 500 companies such as ILM, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Bungie Studios, Ubisoft and Electronic Arts to integrate digital sculpting into their production pipelines. I also created the standardized curriculum that is used in hundreds of schools today, developed the core of ZBrush’s documentation, consulted on nearly every book written about ZBrush and have worked hard to infuse our growing digital sculpting world with as much of the craft and secrets of the past as possible.
Today, I am the founder of ZBrushWorkshops.com where I combine the best of DVD training and classroom learning to teach the art of ZBrush to the world.
