My Lessons From Gurmukh Bhasin: Keeping The Sketch Alive While Designing In Maya

By March 10, 2016 Webinars

This lesson is for my 3D artists. We’re going to get into Maya!

Dylan Cole, in his Production Design class mentioned that one of the hardest things for him to do was to keep the spirit of the sketch alive as he was finishing a painting.

The same thing happens with 3D concepting. Even in software as engineering-focused as Maya.

In this clip you see Gurmukh working on a students work and helping him see how he can keep the “personality” of the piece alive while establishing better production-quality topology.

He demonstrates a complete approach. It does take some time to unfold but that is how everything in Maya works… 🙂

Let me know what you think.

P.s. Registration is open for Gurmukh’s class now and until March 19th.
